For more than 55 years, the annual Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes has welcomed visitors from across Texas to experience the beauty, history, and craftsmanship behind some of Waxahachie's most treasured historic homes and landmarks. From ornate Victorian gingerbread trim and Gothic Revival grandeur to Queen Anne elegance, every home on the tour tells a story that spans generations.
Held the first weekend of June in historic downtown Waxahachie — just 30 miles south of Dallas — the Gingerbread Trail is one of Texas's longest-running heritage tourism events and the Ellis County Museum's signature annual fundraiser. Every ticket sold helps preserve this irreplaceable architectural legacy for the next generation of Texans.
